My mom decided to get a dog for our family in January. She'd been looking for a smaller breed for a while but didn't find one she connected with until her sister helped her get in contact with a couple that fostered dogs. Waaseyaa was among a small litter of puppies, born half dachshund and half chihuahua. She was born on the Winter solstice, and is extremely playful and cuddly. Her name means "it is bright" in Ojibwe, and my mom chose that name because she's like a light to our lives. She's very small, and will probably stay the same size for the rest of her life.
