Project: An Indigenous-led learning app focused on the 7 Grandfather Teachings, designed around Respect, Wisdom, and Courage.
Problem: Designing a clear, welcoming, and easy-to-use interface that helps users learn about the teachings while keeping the overall experience comfortable and engaging.
Lessons Learned: I learned more about proper layout, colour use, and working with Figma components to improve my prototype. I also learned how Gestalt design principles can help make a layout feel more cohesive.
What I Enjoyed: I really enjoyed designing the little flower icon at the bottom of the interface and making the overall design feel warm and inviting. I also liked seeing how everything came together in the final prototype.
Skills: UI design, layout design, colour theory, prototyping, visual design, and applying Gestalt design principles.
Tools & Techniques: Figma, components, interactive prototyping, loading screen animation, and Gestalt design principles.
